Hey There, Nice to Meet You!
Matthew Pappas, CLC, MPNLP
What’s Shakin! I’m so glad you stopped by to check things out, and learn more about working with me as your Coach.
As a Certified Life Coach & NLP Master Practitioner, as well as a Blogger, Podcaster, and Advocate, I’ve made it my mission in life to help people just like you figure out how to get past anxiety and take their power back, and live free from a traumatic past.
As you’ll see, I’m not your typical coach. I’ve got certifications and experience, yes, but I’m also a regular guy who doesn’t take life so seriously all the time. I’m perfectly capable of laughing at myself, and I enjoy getting away and blowing off steam with good self-care that’s works for me.
Ok, enough of that…back to your regularly scheduled “about me” info.
In the beginning… I was a life long computer nerd who spent his working years in data centers or sitting in a cubicle. Suffice it to say it wasn’t a passion of mine, but it was the safe thing to do and fulfilled a purpose for a time. I wasn’t big into taking risks, so I figured staying in the computer industry was the smart thing to do.
I never put much stock into how fulfilling work could, and should be. To me it was just a means to keeping the lights on, food on the table, and the ability to take a yearly vacation. I woke up each day dreading what was ahead, and left each day hoping the evening would last forever so I didn’t have to get up and go back into the office the next day. This was my life for about 25 years.
Along the way I was blessed with 3 amazing kids who never gave up on me, who continued to be a shining light in a sea of confusion. Throughout the struggles I endured, they were people who could I always count on. Had it not been for them, and my faith in the Creator, who knows where I would have ended up.
One day, as fate would have it, I realized that something had to change. Just going through the motions was getting me nowhere fast and I needed to take hard look at myself currently and also into my past. I sought out the help of a professional counselor who began to help me see that a past full of trauma and trying circumstances was influencing every aspect of my life, in ways I never even considered. That was the first step to taking my life back, and the realization that life didn’t have to be this way anymore; I had the power to change it, and only I could do that.
You’ve got that power too, we just have to discover it…or re-discover it!
What Coaching with me is like…
No judgment, No shame. Come as you are, just as you are, with no expectations other than to be yourself and be sick and tired of being miserable. (yeah I could have said “sick and tired” again, but why be like everyone else?)
We all have our past, our struggles, things we wished we would have done differently, chances we wanted to take but never did, and other stuff that nobody knows about right?! It’s time to say Enough is Enough!
We take it one step at a time, figure out where you’ve been, where you want to go, and put a plan in place that is in compliance with your values and that fits who you are and where you’re at in life. In other words, we take proven methods and techniques, and fit them into a plan that works for you!
Because ultimately working with a coach should be all about you, always!

Read about the experience that changed my life forever, at 46 years old. On January 7th, 2018 I was diagnosed with a rare disease, Guillain Barre Syndrome.
After checking myself into the hospital just after the new year in 2018, with symptoms that resembled either a stroke or Bells Palsy, the doctors ran every test imaginable for days until finally a neurologist was able to figure out exactly what was going on.
It was an experience that I will never forget, and I hope to use it to help others with my story. Click here to read about my experience.
Written from my experiences in learning how to grieve my lost childhood and lost innocence as a survivor of childhood trauma, Surviving Grief takes you through the process in a personal way that is validating and offers hope for even the most troubling of circumstances.
The grieving process can be discouraging, confusing, and disheartening. For abuse survivors, grieving a traumatic past brings up an endless supply of emotions that can be difficult to sit with and work through.
Each stage brings it’s own unique set of challenges, but also an opportunity for self-compassion and growth. I created this resource for you, Friend. What you are experiencing is real, but that doesn’t mean that all Hope is lost.
